Resistance breeding in molecules

Nederland, Enkhuizen – fulltime at least at MSc level

Phytopathology department

At the phytopathology department, we study how plants become diseased and why certain plants are less susceptible than others. In addition to research at cell and plant level, we also perform molecular research to gain greater insight into the genetics involved and to develop new leads for resistance to plant pathogens. This knowledge helps our breeders develop new, disease-resistant vegetable varieties.
